One of my favourite celebrities, Lauren Conrad, inspired me to do this. I saw this post over at The Beauty Department quite some time ago, and fell in love. I didn't like the idea of each nail being a different colour, so I decided to do ombre my own way.
Here are my ombre nails:
Your favourite colour polish + white polish + a soft paint brush + a small bowl to mix colours
Start at the bottom, painting the original nail colour about halfway up.
Mix with a small amount of white, and work your way up.
Keep adding more white polish, until you have your desired ombre effect. I chose to use 4 shades.
Voila! I really like the painted look of these nails. An air-gun would have given them a more true ombre effect, but using uneven strokes with a brush makes them look more artistic! To be honest, this colour makes this design more of a winter look. For summer, try pinks or orange and yellow!
